Telestroke Referring Site Toolkit

A Telestroke Referring Site Toolkit has been developed to provide a concise introduction to the Provincial Telestroke program for new and existing referring sites. The contents and resources in the Toolkit have been pulled from current Telestroke sites, the Ontario Stroke System and the Ontario Telemedicine Network.

It includes workflows, processes, tools, and resources that can be adapted and integrated within your organization's existing policies and procedures. Using this Toolkit, you will be able to provide a standardized, province-wide infrastructure that supports a Telestroke encounter.

The toolkit is divided into 6 chapters, with each one corresponding to a phase in the implementation process. Print off the documents in the toolkit and store them in a binder for easy access.

Since this Toolkit is a ‘first of its kind' and a ‘one of a kind', it is still a work in progress. Updates will be provided on a regular basis as we continue to fine tune its contents. All comments or suggestions for improvement are welcome.
