What is the difference between a message and a chat?
One or more messages make up a chat.
How do I send a message?
- Show the Chat panel.
- Enter text in the “Write a message” field and then click the send button or press Enter.
Is there a limit to the length of a message?
A text message has a maximum limit of 10,000 characters.
For readability, it is best to keep text messages short and meaningful.
Can I send an anonymous message?
No, you cannot send an anonymous message. Every message in a chat appears with the sender’s “display name” and the time the message was sent.
Can I send a message only to the host or only to a specific person in the video visit?
You can send a message to a specific participant or the whole group.
To send to a specific participant, select the “Direct” tab in the Chat panel.
To send to the group, select the “Everyone” tab in the Chat panel.
Can I edit or delete a message after I have sent it?
No, you cannot change or remove a message after it was sent.
Are the chats or messages saved?
No, a video visit chat and all its messages exist only during the video call.
When the video visit ends, the associated chat and all its messages are deleted.
Can I include an image or file attachment in a message?
You can include a link (URL) to an image or file.
You cannot attach a file or embed an image in a text message.
