eVisit – HCO: Content
eVisits support connecting patients with the right provider no matter where the patient is located, ensuring equal access to the best care. Extending the support you can offer your community by way of video is easy to do and offers flexibility that both providers and patients value. Virtual access to care in this way is key to the modernization of our health care system.
We’re working on creating more opportunities to enable health care organizations and affiliated providers to use the video services of their choice, and bill for video interactions, on a proof of concept basis.
Whether you’re a health care organization with limited access to specialists or an organization looking to extend your specialist reach, eVisits connect patients to specialists quickly and more conveniently, reducing patient backlogs and associated wait times, and ultimately, enabling better patient outcomes.
eVisits reduce patient no-shows and cancellations by eliminating the challenges associated with attending in-person appointments for patients such as taking time off of work, arranging childcare, mobility and the time and costs of long distance travel. Through eVisits patient transfers can also be optimized, lessening the strain on health care organizations and enabling patients to receive care closer to home. Increase capacity and reduce overcrowding and patient backlogs through implementing eVisits into your organization’s workflows.
eVisits help connect communities to specialized care, minimizing access barriers and seamlessly connecting patients with specialists through secure videoconferencing.

OTN’s scheduling tool enables the organizing of virtual appointments, while the OTN Directory enables providers to identify and connect with other providers, or refer patients for consults via video. eConsult is a service that connects primary care providers with specialists who provide fast online advice, helping to enhance knowledge and often avoiding the need to send patients for in-person consults.
